RIO RANCHO, N.M. –Stolar Research Corporation is pleased to announce the groundbreaking for the new facility to be built on Innovation Way, near NM 528 and Enchanted Hills. Groudbreaking took place on December 13, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.
The facility will be a 23,450 square foot, two-story building, located on a 3-acres.
The site designed by MLC Architects, LLC, a Rio Rancho-based architectural firm owned by Mike Case.
Founded in 1983, Stolar Research Corporation (Stolar) specializes in state-of-the-art radio geophysics and imaging technology. Stolar has developed and manufactured a family of proprietary products that use electromagnetic waves in various applications for military, homeland security, and energy solutions.
The City of Rio Rancho, NM grew 69% from 2000-2010 to a total estimated population of 87,521. Rio Rancho is part of the Albuquerque Metropolitan Statistical Area (Population: 930,048). Only 30-years-old, Rio Rancho is the third largest city in the State, surpassing Santa Fe. The Presbyterian Healthcare Services Hospital is now complete and University of New Mexico Health Services Center is under construction with their plans to erect hospitals in Rio Rancho. Although both healthcare providers projected 2011 opening dates at different sites, they projects have been delayed due to the recession and the financial crisis.
Presbyterian Healthcare Services announced it would construct a $200 million, 120 bed hospital on 66 acres on the northeast corners of Unser and Westside Boulevards. Upon completion of the first phase, the Presbyterian hospital will be 340,000 square feet and a four story medical office building will be 133,000 square feet.
The Presbyterian hospital is expected to create more than 600 jobs.
Announced in May that it will build a hospital on the Rio Rancho university campus set to open in 2011 or 2012.
The 280,000 square foot UNM medical center will open with 75 private rooms with the capacity to expand to 150. Full build-out will consist of 300+ beds. The medical center is expected to generate $158 million for the local economy every year through service-related spending.
